Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or CPR is a life-saving technique that temporarily circulates oxygenated blood through the body of a person whose heart has stopped. CPR can also involve a CPR trained person giving mouth-to-mouth breathing and applying external cardiac chest compressions to keep oxygenated blood circulating. The goal of CPR is continue the circulation of oxygen-rich blood throughout the body to keep the brain & other vital organs & tissue from dying until medical help such as EMT, EMS or paramedics arrive & can transport the individual to a hospital or other medical care facility.
